The ultimate in prenatal preparation! Unlike a group class, this session is tailored to your needs, questions, and specific situation.
Especially helpful for those who are having multiples, have a history of infertility or abnormal cycles, breast surgery or augmentation, or a negative history with nursing previous children.
Our virtual prenatal consults include:
Slides to our prenatal class, videos, and handouts all emailed to you after our appointment.
A comprehensive care plan for your first few weeks after baby is born based on your personal medical history and goals.
First dibs on a postpartum consult within 7 days of letting us know you’ve delivered (wait times are regularly up to 10 days)

Exclusive pumping, low supply, painful latch, oral motor dysfunction/tongue tie, overactive letdown, infant weight concerns, herbal preparations and more.
Our in-person postpartum consults include:
Complete medical history and intake
Physical assessment of you; oral, structural and airway assessment of baby; full feeding assessment
Troubleshooting any concerns, forming an immediate care plan (24-48 hours) and answering any questions.
Notes are sent after our consult with videos, handouts, and a long term care plan as well as contacts for any referrals.

Bottling Consult

Fully formula feeding families welcome to troubleshoot bottle concerns!
Our in-person bottling consults include:
Complete medical history and intake
Physical assessment of infant (oral, structural, and airway)
Bottling education (positioning, bottle choice, formula options, allergy rule out, etc)
Notes with exercises, bottle choices, referrals, and explanations given after consult.

Oral Motor Functioning Assessment

(Second opinion consult)

1:1 oral motor functioning assessment (OMFA):
Second opinion consults for infants who are gaining well with a comfortable latch/taking a bottle easily, but who suffer from choking, gagging, slow feeds, very frequent feeds, hiccups, spitting up, GI distress/blood in diapers, and respiratory distress when feeding.
Our OMFA consults include:
Complete medical history and intake
Full functional assessment (oral, structural and airway)
Referrals to appropriate care providers
Notes and assessment sent to care providers listed.

Weaning Consult

Comprehensive care plan for all stages of weaning, from night weaning the older baby to completely weaning from pumping or breastfeeding.
Our weaning consults include:
Complete medical history and intake
Solid food and formula education, if needed.
Individualized weaning care plan set to your particular goals

Pumping/Return to Work Consult

1-1.5 hours virtually or in person
1:1 support for all issues related to pumping and returning to work:
Low output, discomfort with pumping, flange fitting, pump selection, exclusive pumping, scheduling and storage.
Our pumping consults include:
Complete medical history and intake
Flange fitting and pump education
Individualized pumping plan to help you reach your goals.
Herbal Medicine/Supply Management Consult
$175
(plus the cost of labs if necessary)
1 hour virtually
1:1 support for milk supply management:
Low supply, oversupply, difficulty with supply reduction or increase with standard intervention
Our supply management consults include:
Complete medical history and intake
Review of historical labs and IBCLC
notes
Labs to rule out physiological
reasons for supply issues
Collaboration with your IBCLC throughout the course of treatment
Personalized herbal and nutritional

Please note that labs can be ordered and interpreted by a collaborating physician at an additional charge if necessary. The BALC uses Rupa Health for outside labs if your physician will not order. Insurance cannot be used for outside labs through Rupa Health.
